More than 1,459,000 Californians who are alive today have a history of cancer. In 2016, nearly 173,200 Californians were diagnosed with cancer. This is equivalent to more than 20 new cases every hour of every day. In Santa Barbara County, 1,987 cases of new cancer are predicted.
The American Cancer Society eases the burden of cancer in our community by providing FREE resources and services twenty-four hours a day by calling 800.227.2345.
Fund-raising is especially important to the American Cancer Society. We receive no government funds. Our mission is to continue the unprecedented downturn in both new cases of cancer and deaths from cancer. Our lifesaving and life-enhancing research, education programs and patient services depend on the generosity of individuals, companies that care and the community at large.
With your support, we will gather distinguished individuals from the entire Santa Barbara County area to join in a celebration of life and raise funds to support its life-saving programs, services and continue the mission to advance research, advocacy and provide free local resources. The event will feature fine foods, premium wines, live entertainment, dancing, a spectacular live and silent auction and recognition of community honorees. Join us by becoming a sponsor, providing an auction item, or attending the event as Santa Barbara County comes together to make a difference in the lives of cancer patients! Join our presenting sponsor Agilent Technologies Inc. in making a difference in the lives of cancer patients.

For more than a 100 years, The American Cancer Society has been leading the fight to end cancer. With your support, we have helped usher in an era where more people survive cancer than ever before. By translating our research findings into action, we've seen a 20% decline in US cancer death rates since the early 1990s. Join us to help finish the fight.
